I will dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
